Anthony Palmenter won 7 of his 8 sets while playing two sessions at Maketewah. He improved his season record to 20-9 (68.97%). Session #2 of the Fall/Winter Session started with 68 participating on 17 courts. Nine players participated for the first time in the league: David Rich, Michael Shewmon, Pat Howe, Dan McCarthy, Eli Thompson, Terry Estes, Dale Yu, Molly McCarthy, Chris Kalmbach and Todd Upham. Four others participated for the first time this season: Amy Wolber, Scott Estes, Porter Castleberry and Scott Green.
West 6-0, Up to 7th Eric West went 6-0 on two courts and improved to 32-17 (65.31%). He is now 7th overall among players who've played at least 19 sets. Others going undefeated on courts this week were: Dave Necessary, Pat Howe, Pete Sullivan, Chang Cho, Jack Dowling, Drew Violette and Wil Lofgren. Friday, December 22 is the last day to guarantee a spot in Session #2. We will accommodate all registered by then. After that, 120 will become a hard cutoff.
There are ten days left until the Session #2 deadline. We have reserved courts for up to 120 players. We currently have 92 players. All registered/paid by Dec. 22 will get a spot.
This year's Hertzel Cup City Open Championship will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018. The event will again be played at multiple Cincinnati clubs. The event typically fills it's 48 spots and has never had fewer than 44 - registration is now open and there are already 8 teams signed up. For more details, visit the Hertzel Cup Registration site.
