Session #2 got underway Thursday. John Van Lokeren won his upper level court and moved up a spot in the standings. He is now tied for #5 with a 13.27 average in 11 sessions. Ryan Baxter & Zach Held from Indianapolis won the "Battle at the Mudhole" summer platform tennis tournament at Elysium Tennis Club in Columbus. Baxter & Held defeated Platform Tennis Leaguer Rob Bakker & partner Eric Miller (Charlotte, NC) 6-4, 6-1 in the final. Bakker & Miller defeated the #1 seeds Scott Kahler (Pittsburgh) and Randy Lofgren (Charlotte) in three sets in their semifinal. Baxter & Held defeated Brian Heil & Mark Barry from Columbus in their semifinal 6-3, 6-2. PT Leaguers Doug Jones and Wil Lofgren finished 5th. The 4th Annual event featured the strongest field to date with numerous nationally ranked players and teams: Kahler #5, Baxter #11, Bakker #19, Heil & Barry #27, Held #36 and the Lofgrens #43.
