Mark Williams went 8-0 on two upper level courts to move up four spots in the Spring/Summer Standings. The eight wins improved his season record to 35-22 and jumper his Pairings Points from 1,318 to 1,401. Both courts had ratings in the 25 to 29 range. This marked the second and third times Williams has gone undefeated on courts in this range and he now has a 55-56 (49.5%) lifetime record at this level. Summer Platform Tennis League play starts Thursday, June 10. 30 players are registered with a total of 50 available spots. Session #1 will last eight weeks from June 10 to July 29. Play is on Thursday nights with flexible start times, 2x and guaranteed play options. All match competent levels/players are encouraged to participate.

Todd Wise won two courts this week and was 6-1 overall. Wise went 4-0 on a court with Rob Hinkle, Scott Vaaler, Mark Williams and Michael Guastaferro and 2-1 with Zach Wilson, Stratos Kranias and Scott Vaaler. Wise earned 36 standings points and is currently 21st in the Spring League standings.. Scott Kiker went 3-0 on a court with Mark Williams, Michael Guastaferro and Scott Vaaler. He is now 8-9 for the Spring season. The court carried a 26 strength of schedule rating. Kiker is 84-93 on courts rated 25 to 29 and this was the third time he has gone undefeated on a court in this range. All levels are invited to participate in our 8th Summer Platform Tennis League. Play is on Thursday nights at Glendale Lyceum and runs eight weeks from June 10 to July 29. Again the league will prioritize competitively compatible pairings and will offer variety, time slot flexibility, guaranteed weekly play and 2x play options.
New Players Can Start This Week We have two Thursdays remaining in our Spring League with play at Maketewah and Glendale. Those signing up for Summer League are welcome to start play immediately. You will be added to the "In or Out?" list and can opt "In" by Wednesday at Noon if you would like to play this week. |
