Summer Session #2 kicked off with Henry Bunis, a former world top 100 world tennis player, making his Platform Tennis League debut. Bunis was a 1971 Ohio state high school champion and a 2x NCAA All-American at Columbia. Bunis, new to platform tennis, went 1-2 on a court with Doug Jones, Harrison Rogers and Wes Goebel. Also playing for the first time this summer were Kevin Hackett and Konnor Montchai. Platform Tennis Leaguers Wil Lofgren and Eric West teamed up to win this year's Cincinnati Met Men's Open Doubles Tournament. West made it to the finals of the singles event and Lofgren to the semifinals. 2021 Hertzel Cup champion Chris Angulo won the Met singles tournament.
Todd Wise ended Summer Session #1 on a high, going 7-1 on two courts. Wise improved to 48-37 for the Spring/Summer League and has a 12.56 standings points average. Harrison Rogers went 4-0 on a court with Doug Jones, Kevin Taylor, Mark Williams and Rob Hinkle. The court carried a 34 Strength of Schedule rating. This is the first time Rogers has gone undefeated on a court rated higher than 30. Rogers improved to 64-42 (60.4%) for the 2021 Spring/Summer League and currently has a 1,666 pairings points average. Tony Teufel went 3-0 on a court with John Van Lokeren, Erik Simonson and Harrison Rogers. Teufel's Spring/Summer League record is now 5-1 with a 19.50 standings points average. Harrison Rogers took first place on the summer season's highest rated court. Rogers eeked out a 1-game victory over Doug Jones and Eric West to grab the 24 standings points. The court had a 38 "Strength of Schedule" rating with Rogers, Jones, West and Scott McIntosh playing. Rogers was 5-1 on the night with two first place court finishes. Rogers is now in fifth place overall with a 52-34 W/L record and a 16.94 standings points average.
