The result helped him close the gap in the standings slightly, but he was unable to catch up to an idle Rob Bakker (illness). Fraser finished third overall behind Jones (2nd) and Bakker (1st). Players going undefeated on courts in the final week were: Fraser, Tim Schraffenberger, Dave Montgomery, Olivia Capannari, Carlos Canelas and Dave Necessary. Three players go into the final week with a chance to win the overall title. Rob Bakker, Doug Jones and Tyler Fraser could each win with the right result. They will face each other on a court rounded out by Thaddeus Reed and Wil Lofgren. Bakker comes into the night in first place and has the simplest path to victory. Below is a summary:
Rob Bakker ... will win if he goes at least 3-1 on the court. A 2-2 performance opens the door for Jones. A 1-3 or 0-4 gives both Jones & Fraser a shot to catch up. Doug Jones ... will win if he goes 3-1 or better and Bakker finishes 2-2 or worse. Tyler Fraser ... will win if he goes 4-0 and both Bakker and Jones finish 1-3 or worse. Greg Carr went 7-1 on two courts improving to 62-46 (57.41%) for the season. Carr is now in 12th place among likely qualifiers (10 sessions/30 sets). Players going undefeated on courts this week were Carr, Drew Violette and Doug Ucci. Click for complete Week #25 results or updated standings.
